What is a prayer?
True prayer is the mental expression of the highest ideal - the expression of the longing of the individual soul for reaching the highest goal of life, which is the discovery of the truth - the expression of that attitude which arouses the God in oneself - It is a ladder by which the soul ascends to the domain of transcendental Reality.

Agree wid u hundred percent..These days lota ppl chase material desires and tend to forget that everything s only temporal. Only true and selfless devotion to the Supremo would make them realize the underlying truth
I have a question.. Why goto temples when GOD is everywhere around us and, more importantly, within us?
Everyone have their seeds sown at certain point of lifetime under certain circumstances. For a few, temple. For a few, elsewhere. Again the mind plays a role here. It all depends on the mind.
Yes, its just the outwardness of one's quest to the discovery of truth. The other ladder could be realizing the oneness through self-inquiry and meditation.
